My publisher, Familius, just sent out its Fall 2019 catalog and our "Dogs Vs Ice Cream" book is in it! It's real and coming to a bookstore or pet store near you soon! It's very exciting! Very colorful! Okay, I'll calm down now. You know, I have really loved this project. I've written before that it was seven ice cream socials for dogs in August and September in which we photographed 192 dogs and cones filled with Purina's Frosty Paws doggy ice cream. I used Frosty Paws original because I wanted all the ice cream to be uniform in color -- like vanilla. I've used others that have pretty colors but I just wanted them all to be one color and Frosty Paws is very easy to find. And we just used plain sugar cones (we did have a gluten free option), which dogs seemed to love.
Speaking of Frosty Paws, I want to give a shout out to Purina for supplying the ice cream for all the dogs. Pretty cool, eh? So thank you, Purina!
If there is a downfall at all, and there is, it's that not all dogs made it into the book. Hard decisions were made. And the decision wasn't made on whether the dog liked the ice cream because some of them downright despised it (sorry, Purina). And maybe if I only had four ice cream social instead of seven, all of them could have been in the book. But you know, the very last dog of the very last social in my back yard made the book. You never know. In fact, at least five of the last social made the book. Hey, maybe if this one does well there will be another one!
I think the book is released in August. Don't you want one? Lol. I do! We all scream for ice cream, don't we?
