Teddy, the Jumping Jack Russell of Killarney!

OK, I know, I know. Jack Russells like to jump. For that reason, Teddy is nothing extraordinary. They are energetic dogs and don't tire out easily. It's who they are. But Teddy is quite the charmer.

But here it is, the last day of March and I'm freshly back from a vacation in Ireland. It is one lovely country. Breathtaking. Every time you turn around it is a photo opportunity. It is a stunning island filled with green, castles, cliffs, sheep, horses, cows, beautiful, friendly people, history, epic scenery, ruins... on and on. And let's not forget the Irish whiskey and Guinness and Smithwick Red Ale. What a place. Honestly. Oh, let's not forget dogs! And Teddy!

This little guy is Teddy and is indefatigable when it comes to his ball. Teddy loves him his ball. He is the resident pooch at Applecroft House in Killarney, a really great little bed and breakfast if you're going to the Ring of Kerry, Ross Castle or the Muckross House. Ticks off all the boxes. Big rooms. Forceful showers. Strong hairdryers. Free wifi. Great breakfast. And a wonderful innkeeper. What more do you want?

Kathy, who runs the place with her husband, says Teddy parks himself and his ball between the two doors of the B&B so that he can lure anyone coming in or out for a game of ball. And while we were eating breakfast, there he was, equidistant between the two doors. I mean, you could probably take out a tape measure and see that he was equally spaced between the two doors.

So of course we wanted to oblige Teddy. Here's the thing. Teddy doesn't like to let go of the ball. He'll chase it but won't drop it. Makes that game a little more difficult. And we did manage to tire him out. He rested underneath a lovely, willowy tree when he needed a little break.

Here's Teddy. Kathy said he's been photographed many times before. Not surprising. Who could resist that little ball of energy?

Oh, and if you're interested? Here's my travel video of Ireland at the bottom of the page. Teddy's in it. It even has some drone shots! Hope you enjoy it!

Kathy Brosnan - Oh my god what a beautiful caption of our landscape and animals. Thank you so much Diana and Vicki for sharing your treasured memories of your holiday in Ireland. Teddy says thank you too, little show off, Kathy
